Global Solidarity Report 2024
Forewords by Winnie Byanyima (UNAIDS Executive Director and United Nations Under-Secretary-General) and Helen Clark.
The Global Solidarity Report 2024 explores how the world can overcome deepening division in an increasingly multipolar era. Building on last year’s landmark framework, this second edition updates the Global Solidarity Score, finding the world again in the Danger Zone — scoring just 36 out of 100, signalling a perilously weak level of global cooperation.
Produced by Global Nation, in collaboration with experts from MIT, Ipsos, Global Citizen, CIVICUS, the Gates Foundation, and UN agencies, the 2024 report gathers insight from over 20,000 citizens across 31 countries and draws on data from the UN, World Bank, and OECD.
Featuring forewords by Winnie Byanyima, Executive Director of UNAIDS, and Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and Member of The Elders, the report warns that global solidarity remains fragile but repairable. Endorsements and contributions from Riz Ahmed, Erna Solberg, Jayati Ghosh, Pedro Conceição, and Kelly Beaver MBE highlight a growing movement calling for renewed unity.
The report identifies two urgent Calls to Action: to win the messaging war by reigniting hope and shared purpose across nations, and to transform global public investment, including through fairer taxation of extreme wealth.
